LaSallian community gives help to victims of typhoon Ondoy

September 28, 2009

To All Members and Friends of the Philippine Lasallian Family:

Peace and solidarity!

Last Saturday, September 26, Typhoon Ondoy brought massive rains that killed so far nearly a hundred people and about 330,000 people displaced. The PAGASA weather bureau announced that a month’s worth of rainfall poured in just six hours, and said to be the most recorded in over 40 years. An estimate also showed that about 80 percent of Metro Manila was under water. We witnessed for the past two days the devastation that Typhoon Ondoy has created. On television, we saw pictures and videos of areas submerged in water and people crying for help.

The Lasallian Justice & Peace Commission would like to invite all Lasallians and concerned citizens to help in the relief operations being conducted by our schools. In our desire to help as many communities as possible, please find below the list of schools where you can donate and volunteer, as well as the area of coverage. Let us organize and consolidate our efforts as one Lasallian Family.
